Minnetonka, Prior Lake and Chaska were three of the 10 boys swim and dive teams competing in the Gold Division of the Maroon & Gold Invitational on Saturday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.
Minnetonka senior Evan Lee-To won two events as the Skippers finished third in the team standings behind Edina and Mercer Island, Wash.
Lee-To won the 100-yard freestyle race with a time of 47.82, and took first in the 100 breaststroke with 58.52.
Lee-To also led off the Skipper 200 freestyle relay team of Dane Oberman, Austin Sarna and Jake Hausauer to a third-place swim
Lakeville North waited until the last second to top Chaska on Saturday night.
The Panthers scored the winning goal with 4 seconds left in the game to notch a 3-2 victory at the Chaska Community Center.
Chaska junior Alex Athmann tied the game in the first period with his second goal of the season, from Alex Robb and Jake Erickson.
The Panthers struck back a minute later to retake the lead.
Dan Pries knotted the game again in the third period with a power-play goal, the fifth of the season for the Chaska senior.
Chaska's girls hockey team poured on the offense for a 6-1 victory over Bloomington Jefferson on Saturday night at the Bloomington Ice Garden.
The Hawks started from the get-go, as a wristshot by junior defender Catie Ladner from the right point zinged into the net less than 2 minutes into the game.
Hawk junior Lexi Buelow was credited with an assist on the play.
Buelow set up a second score 4 minutes later, with a pass from the corner to sophomore Anna Spillers, who knocked it into the net from the crease. Sophomore wing Mercede Davis also picked up an assist.
Chaska senior Pat Smith came as close as a wrestler can get to a championship - without winning it.
Smith fell 3-2 to Jarrett Jensen of Rapid City (S.D.) Stevens in the championship of the 152-pound weight bracket at the Rumble on the Red tournament in Fargo, N.D.
Hawk junior R.J. Hallman took eighth place at 112. He went 5-3 at the two-day tournament.
Chaska sophomore Gavin Larsen won five of seven matches to place seventh at 119.
One good tournament deserves another.
Jena Wilder, Rachel Ramsey and Shelby Tuseth scored first period goals and Minnetonka rolled from there for a 5-0 Schwan Cup girls’ blue division championship game victory Wednesday over Eagan, played at Ridder Arena.
Emily Meese added a goal in the second period and Rachel Ramsey scored her second goal of the game in the final period to finish the scoring.
Julie Friend made 21 saves and notched the shutout victory in goal for the Skippers.

With a 4-0 shutout of Breck on Tuesday, the Minnetonka girls hockey team will go for a Schwan Cup title.
Carolyn Draayer, Talia Raiola, Rachel Ramsey and Brenna Flatley scored goals in the win.
Minnetonka plays Eagan at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31 at Ridder Arena at the U of M campus.
Warroad shut out Chaska 4-0 on Tuesday, sending the Hawks to the seventh-place game, set for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Blaine Super Rink 4.
Hill-Murray edged Chaska 55-52 in the Hill-Murray Tournament semifinals on Tuesday.
Senior forward Mia Sandstrom had a season-best total of 16 points, same as junior center Ellen Degler.
Tiffany Van Haaften had nine for the Hawks, and Taylor Brown finished with five. Junior center Brianna Tisch had four points in the loss, and Brooke Brown had two.
Chrissy Holm led the Pioneers with 18 points, and freshman Tessa Cichy had 15.
The Hawks and Pioneers stand at 6-2 overall, going into Wednesday's final round.
Chaska was on the wrong end of a frustrating defeat at the hands of Waconia on Monday.
But the Hawks had to get past it quickly, as there was another game to play.
The Hawks got back on the winning track on Tuesday, downing Bloomington Kennedy 64-59 in the final round of the Edina Tournament.
The Eagles had a 35-30 halftime lead before the Hawks took over.
Chaska moved to 7-1 on the season with the win, while Kennedy fell to 0-7.
Minnetonka had 34 shots on goal in the Schwan Cup opener Monday against Chaska.
But the 35th was the charm.
Hannah Berry scored the winning goal 1:25 into overtime to lift the Skippers to a 2-1 victory.
Chaska junior defender Catie Ladner scored 6:25 into the third period for the first goal of the game.
