Southwest Christian's girls basketball team remains unbeaten as the Stars beat St. Paul Como Park 52-40 on Saturday at the Simley Tournament.
Southwest Christian senior Cassie Haag and Libby Bird led the way with 20 points apiece.
Junior forward Jessica Carlin finished with five points and senior forward Lucie Miller added four points for the Stars. Natalie Wisely netted two points and sophomore Grace Kennedy chipped in a free throw.
The Stars led Como 23-16 at halftime.
SWC (5-0) takes on the host team at 3 p.m. on Monday. Simley blasted St.
Southwest Christian senior forward Caleb Palkert popped in half his team's points Saturday against Mound-Westonka.
The Stars needed each of Palkert's 35 points in a 68-66 double-overtime victory, at the Stars' home court at Crown College in St. Bonifacius.
Palkert made 11 of 15 shots, sank three of six three-pointers and also had 15 rebounds and three blocks in the game.
The Stars also had big games from a pair of junior guards, as Jordan Dye scored 15 points and pulled down nine rebounds, and Peter Sorensen scored nine points and dished 10 assists.

Southwest Christian of Chaska won its second game of the season, Tuesday, edging PACT Charter School 45-42.
Libby Bird finished with 17 points for the Stars against PACT, with Cassie Haag adding 15.
SWC opened with a 40-24 victory Saturday at Mound-Westonka. Haag finished with 16 points and freshman Sarah Swanson added seven. The Stars led 18-7 at halftime.
Southwest (2-0) hosts Meadow Creek Christian at 8 p.m. on Friday at Crown College in St. Bonifacius.
Southwest Christian got its season under way Thursday with a 56-52 loss to Bethlehem Academy.
The Stars got their first win Saturday, 67-61 over PACT Charter School.
SWC is back on the court tonight at home against Jordan, at Crown College in St. Bonifacius.
The Stars then host Mound-Westonka at 7 p.m. Saturday and CHOF at 8 p.m. on Monday.

The Concordia-St. Paul volleyball team received all 36 first-place votes in the Div. II coaches’ top 25 national poll released Monday.
Southwest Minnesota State University of Marshall moved up a spot to No. 7 in the poll.
Both teams have local players contributing now, and more are set to arrive in the near future.
And both are ready for postseason play.
Concordia, the defending national Div. II champion and undefeated on the season, hosts the first three rounds of the tournament. The Golden Bears will play Regis University of Colorado at 7 p.m. tonight.

Southwest Christian played in its first state volleyball tournament this weekend.
The Stars certainly were not going to leave empty-handed.
Southwest topped Martin County West with a fifth-game tiebreaker in the Class A consolation championship match on Saturday morning at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
The Stars looked like it would cruise to victory, taking the first two games 25-20 and 25-12. But the Mustangs got their game together to take the next two games by twin 25-20 scores.
SWC topped off the tournament with a 15-10 tiebreaker victory.
The first game Southwest Christian of Chaska played in the Class A state volleyball tournament on Thursday at the Xcel Energy Center was perhaps a little too short for the Stars' liking.
The next one was just long enough.
After suffering a quarterfinal sweep at the hands of Ada-Borup on Thursday, Southwest Christian struck back with a five-game tiebreaker victory Friday over Deer Creek.
Match scores went 25-14, 22-25, 28-26, 15-25, 15-12.
The win puts the Stars in the consolation finals, set for 9 a.m. on Saturday against Martin County West.
