From a St. Cloud State University release Dec. 1, 2008:

St. Cloud State University golf coach Judi Larkin has signed Charlie West of Chaska High School to a National Letter of Intent and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tender.

West of Victoria, Minn., is a senior member of the Chaska High School golf team and a three-year letterwinner. Chaska was the top-ranked team in 3A boys golf in 2008 with a 297.1 team stroke average.

Last spring, West boasted the lowest individual overall score average on his team, was named the Team MVP and winner of the Most Birdies award.

Chaska High School will have four student-athletes sign national letters of intent to play collegiate sports in a ceremony at the school on Wednesday morning.

The students are:

John Pavelko, Golf, DePaul (CHS Coach Jeff Rydland)

Maggie Finkel, Volleyball, Winona State University (CHS Coach Sue Murphy)

Makenzie Niesche, Volleyball, Southwest Minnesota State University, Marshall (CHS Coach Sue Murphy)

Griffin Kilber, Baseball, Concordia-St. Paul (CHS Coach Eric Welter)
