Eden Prairie cheerleaders finish fourth at state

On Saturday, Nov. 15, the 19-member Eden Prairie Cheerleading Team attended the Minnesota Cheerleading Coaches Association (MCCA) Great Minnesota Cheer Off Finals.

Held at St. John’s University, the Eden Prairie cheerleaders advanced to this event after qualifying at one of four Regionals. Coached by Melissa Uittenbogaard and Julie Barkley-Hoffer, Eden Prairie was 1 of 15 teams to compete in the AA division and placed 4th out of the 8 teams that advanced to Finals.

The 13-member Minnetonka Cheerleading Team attended the Minnesota Cheerleading Coaches Association (MCCA) Great Minnesota Cheer Off Finals on Saturday.

Held at St. John’s University, the Minnetonka cheerleaders advanced to this event after qualifying at one of four Regionals.

Coached by Andre Brewer, Brittany Wier and Laura Harris, Minnetonka was one of 15 teams to compete in the AA division and placed third out of the eight teams that advanced to Finals.

Manicuring Dick Hanson Field in Bob Pates Stadium at Burnsville High School may be a thing of the past.

On Oct. 9, the solicitation of bids for synthetic turf was unanimously approved by the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School Board, with members Todd Johnson and Gail Morrison absent.
